Boy's Vest

Today is a busy day in our house, so I'll make this post quick. Mr. requested a vest for his birthday and although I have never made any boy clothes before, this way actually pretty easy and fun. I created the pattern from a t-shirt and stitched it up in about an hour or so.

The outside material is flannel, which I did not realize to be so flimsy, so it is lined with some brown corduroy. Makes it a little more manly and rugged too :)

I think he likes it ;)

Have a great weekend!

Tuesday Trigger: Watercolor Butterflies

Hello and happy Monday! It's been awhile since I've had a chance to play along with the Moxie Fab trigger but this week's inspiration was just too pretty to resist (pun intended!)

I really love using the watercolor resist technique but instead of dye inks, this time I experiemented with Smooch Spritz and wow! The color is much more vibrant and blended together much more naturally without having to use a ton of water. Plus you get the extra shimmer particles from the Smooch and the little paint splatters from the spray bottle.

Loving how this turned out and was able to put the butterfly stamp collection to use! Click here to play along, the inspiration image is below.

Have a wonderful week!

PBD April Release Blog Hop

Did you come here from Rebekah's blog? If not you're going to want to click here to start the hop - trust me, you don't want to miss a single stop!

Welcome to the Pink by Design April Release Blog Hop! We are glad you are joining us, to see all of the fun, new stamps that are coming out! Besides all the yummy projects, there is also some YUMMY blog candy- that you don't want to miss!

The grand prize is a Big Shot! The Big Shot is PERFECT for the new Pink by Design Dies in this release!

All you have to do to be entered for the Big Shot is leave comments on any blogs on the hop. For each comment, you will get an entry. You can also share the Stamp Release on your own blog, Facebook or Pinterest- and leave a comment telling us you did so. You can really rack up the entries this way! :)

As a bonus, I am also giving away a mini kit of goodies to one commentor! There is some good stuff from Crate, MME, Smash, Cosmo Cricket and more! All I ask is that become a follower of my blog if you aren't already.

Okay, now that we have your attention, this release I am showcasing the gorgeous new Map Background! Lots of layers on this one and perfect whether you like a vintage or modern style!

I really tried to go vintage with this layout but I can never go there completely for some reason! Sigh. To give the map a bit of a realistic look, I stamped it with Antiquing Dye Ink onto a thin paper bag, darkened the edges to give that old paper look, crumpled it up and then taped it down.

It's a great background for any travel themed project! The sentiment is from Subway Art.

You can find all the new releases in the Pink by Design store right now and don't forget to check out the new clearance section to get a few oldies before they are gone forever!

Ustream chat is tonight at 9pm CST.

Okay and that's all the info I have! Next stamp on the hop is the super sweet and talented Anna.

Works of Art

Was putting away some old layouts into albums this past weekend (wow I scrapped a ton the first 3/4 of last year!) and found this one that was never shared. It was a submission for the Clearsnap CHA booth that didn't end of making it but I kinda love it anyway!

The photos are from the zoo last summer when the kids got their faces painted all crazy.

There is just a huge mish-mash of products here - lots of Smooch Spritz, Design Adhesives, Glitter, Pigment Inks, Watermark Ink and Embossing Powder, and Stylus with tips. This page was a ton of fun to put together.

Have a great day! ♥

That's okay though and if you like Smash too then be sure to head over to Paper Issues this week to link up all your Smash projects. If you want to take the blog hop too to visit a few of the fabulous gals on our team, there is a Smash prize involved as well! Isn't Cassie so generous?

Happy Day

Aww! Today I have the first page for baby A's scrapbook album - the first ultrasound! It feels like forever since I've scrapped a layout and was a little unsure of even where to start but this page surprisingly came together in about an hour.

Used the March project kit from The Paper Bakery, which is full of MME Follow Your Heart and Miss Caroline goodness plus their current sketch for a jump start. Am also playing along with the current My Mind's Eye challenge to use hexagons, a favorite trend!

I just measured and hand cut a few hexies, plus cut some from patterned paper and used the chipboard ones as well.

For the border there on the right, I tried to stamp with the chipboard border and it kinda worked, even though it doesn't have the give that rubber/poly stamps do to get that smooth coverage. Still a fun washed out effect though! Loving the touch of red in this kit!

Have the most lovely weekend! ♥

at 16 Weeks

Four months went by so quickly. And I have no doubt the remaining 5 will follow just as fast.

I am definetly showing and have settled into the maternity pants and flowy skirts. For some reason this time I am feeling super feminine and have been wearing lots of girly colors, skirts, dresses and even styling my hair. No make-up though cause my skin is looking awesome!

Getting the kids ready to be big sisters and brother. We've been talking a lot about what it will be like to have a baby around, watching baby videos and looking through old baby albums. Little miss already asked how the baby will get out and wouldn't settle for a simple "the doctor will help it get out" answer. Oh my.

Very excited to find out girl or boy so I can begin preparing and sewing and nesting! So happy to have my energy back plus what feels like a little extra.

All in all, feeling happy. Very happy. ♥

Easter Moments

Easter was wonderful this year and of course it all went by so fast that I was barely able to document it. The egg hunt was on and over before I even realized there was a camera around my neck and brunch was cooked, eaten, cleaned up and most everyone had left before I remembered to pull it out and capture the moment. The only pic I did take was one with the phone camera of my Easter sweetie and her basket of goodies. Oops.

I find it so hard to both document and live in the moment and wonder how so many others can do it so well. Share your secrets please!?

Last year I remembered to take lots of pics and created this 2 pager with several photos from different Easter events. My fav part is the little word banner at the bottom of the page.

Hoping your week will be just as blessed as your holiday was. Hugs.
