First Taste of Summer - Sketchabilities #52

Good morning! Today is the reveal for sketch #52 at Sketchabilities! I really enjoyed working with this sketch because I almost always use 3 photos on my pages. Plus love all the opportunities for layering! These photos are from our first beach trip at the start of the hot season - that trip is always the thing that signifies that summer is really here to stay! (Not that I am a big summer girl, much too hot and humid around here for my taste, but the kids do enjoy it.) The twins are really taking to the water - learning to dunk their heads, going in up to their chests and practicing kicking their arms and legs. I am certain they will be swimming on their own by the time next summer rolls around.

For this page, I used up the rest of my July Lucky Girl Crafts kit, Beach Babes with lots of fun, summer colors and releases from Echo Park and Bo Bunny. Also added a few Prima jewels to represent the waves - love those jewels, but am never quite sure how to use them.

Hope you'll take a moment to play along with the sketch and link it up right here!

Bike Riders

The girls and their matching princess bikes. They are both still working on getting the hang of it, as they are both a step up from the bikes they had earlier this summer. Its just so much nicer riding on the pavement instead of a gravel road.

Yep, I really love the soft pastel colors on this page. Did a little stamping too with my Colorbox Paintbox in Soft Pastel. Dreamy.

Well Wishes Cameo Card

Oh me oh my! Have you seen the new Colorbox Mix'd Media Inx by Donna Salazar?! I had a chance to play with these delicious inkpads this weekend and am smitten with the shape, consistency and even the smell. So luxurious!! I had fun putting together this Victorian inspired card for my Grandma with lots of stamped layers. There is a little Smooch Spritz and embossing powder tossed in there as well.

Not my usual style, but I'm really liking the rich colors.  Sketch by Artful Delight.

Supplies:
Mix'd Media Inx by Colorbox - Jasmine, Honey, Truffle, Leather, Chiffon
Smooch Spritz - Cashmere
Embossing Powder - Pearl, Thick Clear
Stamps - Prima, Kaiserkraft, Autumn Leaves (Rhonna Farrer), Back Porch Memories
Chipboard - Maya Road, Basic Grey
Rub-on - Basic Grey
Cardstock - Bazzill Basics

Gotta run!

Happy Fourth layout

A simple layout (photographed in less than stellar lighting) with pictures from our 4th of July celebration. This was my first shot trying out the super shiny and fun Sparkle Fibers from Clearsnap. Love the shine and texture they add.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Celebrating One Year - MME #25

Yes, her birthday was only this past weekend but I couldn't help printing out and scrapping these photos of my niece's first birthday right away! Birthday photos are my very favorite to scrap! And since the sweltering heat this weekend kept me from going overboard with the photo taking, I only had 5 pictures to edit and choose from. Doesn't that just make the whole process easier?

It just so happens the theme and sketch challenge at My Mind's Eye this month worked out to be a perfect match for this page too. A few of the elements are switched up a bit on top, but other than that it stays pretty true to the original design. On this page I used papers and embellies from Good Day Sunshine, Lime Twist, Stella Rose, Fine and Dandy and the glitter ribbon is from Lost and Found (can't wait for the sequel!). Yep, this page is hanging on the wall as my current fav.

And here is the sketch just in case you want to play along too! I'll be posting my CHA wish list tomorrow so come back to visit then!
